First of all, I am not a millionaire, and I do not have everything in life figured out. Sorry! What I have done however is create a life that I am proud of and enjoy immensely. I wish the same for you. I grew up in the English countryside on a small farm backing onto a nature reserve, and it would be fair to say that compared with the families around us, we were financially poor. Most, if not all, of my clothes, were second hand. We had no running water until I was 10 (we used to get our drinking water from our neighbours) and I never had any of the “cool” things other children had. I tell you this not to paint a picture of this unfortunate, downtrodden child. After all, I was still in the top 5% of the world’s population in terms of living conditions. Plus, I had parents who showed me love and imprinted a set of positive values that make me the person I am today. However, everything is relative, and my childhood certainly taught me to value the things I had and to work hard to get to where I want to be in life.
I have travelled, worked and lived in many places around the world. I have now settled in the Cotswolds of England where I spend the majority of the year with my soulmate Nicola and our Burmese cat Hemingway. Together Nicola and I run a successful photography company, and we both have our own profiles and niche in the health and wellness world. We have designed our lifestyle to spend 1 – 3 months out of the UK either travelling or basing ourselves in a beautiful location from which to inspire ourselves and others. Financially we are debt free. That’s right. NO DEBT! Not even a credit card balance. We have enough wealth to feel freedom and that has been our financial aim.
On the lighter side of life. I love good coffee and am always on the lookout for a new one to try. I sometimes tell a white lie when I go to restaurants and tell them I have allergies to certain foods. My guilty pleasure is almond butter. (Honestly, I can go through a jar in an afternoon without supervision). My happy place is the forest, and I am secretly quite into crystals. Schhh…
Thrive Through Life is the distillation of all the principles I have been lucky enough to learn from many great mentors in their respective fields. Initially, this held me back as I thought that I do not and never will know as much as these experts. However, now I realise that this is my strength. I am a generalist, not a specialist. I have a sound understanding of lots of different areas within the health and wellness sector, and when this knowledge is compounded across all the topics, it adds up to a very comprehensive blueprint of how to optimise the life you are living. Thrive Through Life is a way of living that I have used that brings me contentment. A knowledge that I am looking after my body and mind and giving it what it needs to thrive. I am building wealth. Financially, but also an abundance of time, knowledge, love, and experiences. Plus, knowing when I have enough of these things for myself and can start to use the excess to bring about positive change in the world around me. Lastly, I have an underlying sense of wellbeing. This is a feeling of tranquillity, a belief that everything happens for a reason and comes from a hard to shake philosophy of life. I am so thankful that I have been given a chance to share this with others. I believe that wherever you are in your life right now and whatever you are working with, I can teach you how to create positive change and bring you towards your sense of contentment and tranquillity within your life.
Wishing you a life well lived,
